Hi there! I am so glad that you stopped by. Let me tell you a little bit about myself.

I am wife to Michael, mother to Cameron, our teen-aged daughter, and keeper to our circus of wild animals (three dogs and a cat).

We live in one of the most beautiful places in the world: Charleston, South Carolina, and are blessed to have a loving family and so many dear friends.

After fifteen years of working out-of-the-home (first as a museum curator and then as a children’s minister), I came home several years ago to help with my husband’s new medical practice, to care for my aging mother who lives with us and to enjoy the last few years with my daughter before she heads off to college. Sounds pretty straight-forward, huh?

As I began this new season of life, I quickly realized how easy it was for the hours to just disappear and the days to flit away. I knew I needed something to help document this season. I love writing so a blog seemed the logical outlet to help keep me accountable.

My life is pretty full these days with writing, creating, taking photos, blogging, caring for my family, volunteering, etc. I know that I don’t have all of the answers but I do know that I am in the thick of life and loving it. As you read my posts, you will discover more about the beautiful mess that is me and my life.

I look forward to hearing from you and to getting to know you better. I hope that you will leave me a comment or sign up for my mailing list. Until next time. . . .

God’s peace and blessings to you.

Amy

    Amy,

I’m so glad that I am here. My women’s bible study group will be reading 1000 Gifts when we start again in the fall. I’m looking forward to getting to you know you better as you share your perspectives in this season of your life. Also, I love how you say you’ll blog once a week… “usually on Tuesdays” is a nice touch — aspiring for consistency without being too rigid… I am always asking myself what I want my blogging routine to be and I can never figure it out. :)

Thanks for commenting, Angie. I am so very new to blogging that when I do something that might be a good thing, I am ecstatic! Honestly it was a pretty easy decision for me about when I would post something because of my schedule. One of my only goals is to post regularly and once a week seems doable for now.

I am thrilled to know that your Bible study group will be reading 1000 Gifts. It really has changed so much for me–the way I write, the way I see the world around me, and most importantly, it has opened me up to seeing God in all things.

I look forward to getting to know you better through your blog too!
